The Decatur Civic Chorus has been singing beautiful music in Decatur, Georgia since 1949. We have more than 70 members ranging in age from 20s to 90s. We sing because we love it, and we have a lot of fun while we’re doing it.
We sing a wide variety of choral music…classical, modern, secular, spiritual (typically Christian), Broadway and more. Our accompanist is the very talented Dr. Soo Jin Kim.
We perform two concerts every year: December/Christmas and May/Spring. We’re hoping to expand our scope to include some community performances as well.

DCC is delighted to welcome a new chorus director, Kathryn Hartgrove in December of 2025. Kathryn wears many hats in the world of musical performance as a voice professor, opera director and Director of Worship Arts at First Baptist Church of Decatur.
Kathryn fits right in because she identifies as “slightly crazy.” We’re excited about her leadership and her energy as she begins shaping the chorus to fit her vision for the future.
